Plan a race day for the whole family! Since we have babies we held a DIAPER DASH.
This activity would easily work for even high school aged kids and adults. You could create a 5K around your neighborhood, a bike race, an obstacle course, or even a Triathlon if you have a neighborhood pool, beach, or backyard pool. We used a $6 pool from Aldi for our pool!
Masking or duct tape, sidewalk chalk, bikes, helmets, pool/kiddie pool, lawn chairs for spectators (neighbors & family), race medals (ordered from etsy), small table, snacks, drinks, support signs, matching shirts (of course everything is optional)
Set up a table near the finish line with some race medals!
You can have a variety of support crew, even with T-shirts to go with the volunteer position. Daddy was a great volunteer for this!
Set up the race however you would like to! We did a driveway triathlon with neighbors cheering!
Make sure to take a variety of photos for later years. You could make this an annual event!
Short video of Alistair (8 months) with Ma helping him race and earn his 1st Race Medal!!
A job well done!!
Invite the neighbors over to cheer and encourage racers!! They can hold signs and clap and shout!
Have some healthy snacks for your race finishers at the finish line!!
